Arranging any visit carries fixed costs regardless of how small the job is: scheduling, travel, and the crew's time getting to and from the property. A minimum charge covers those. It means a small apartment that needs less than the minimum visit length still pays for the minimum visit.
Is an hourly rate cheaper than a flat rate?

Dusting. Every reachable surface, room by room.
Floors. Vacuumed and mopped in every room of the house.
Finishing. Trash emptied and beds made before we head out.
Supplies. We bring our own vacuums and non-toxic products, in every room, every visit.
Not included, at any price
Carpet shampooing. We do not carry carpet extractors.
Dishes. Please clear the sink and counters before we arrive.
Pet messes, litter boxes and body fluids. That work needs BBP certification we do not hold.
Anything above 8 feet. A step stool is fine, a ladder is not.
Furniture over 20 pounds. Move it and we will gladly clean under it.
Oven interiors, unless you run the self-clean cycle a day or two beforehand.

Cancelling less than 48 hours ahead is charged at half the service.
If the crew arrives and cannot get in, the full service is charged, so a reliable method of entry is on you to provide.
